Answer: りんご (apple) is the only food item. The sentence means 'Yesterday I ate an apple.'

Answer: は (wa) marks the topic of the sentence. 'As for me, I am a student.'

The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N5 is the entry-level certification for Japanese language learners.
Exam schedule: Held twice a year (July and December) worldwide
Passing score: 80/180 points (about 44%). You must also meet the minimum score requirement in each section — you cannot pass by scoring high in one section alone.
